Lots of business leaders in my nearby town clubbed together with the local council officers to kick start some new initiatives that started a couple of years ago – we have just had the local town mayor doing a celebrity style switching on of the high street Christmas light display. The actual ceremony was at 4.30 in the afternoon, but to encourage he crowds, they held a sort of Christmas fayre down the pedestrianised High Street with charities and commercial stall holders all braving the desperately cold weather. I was helping relatives who were running the w.i. stall – it was quite successful, with a huge number of luscious home made cakes and buns.
When trying to run a business venture that needs folk to embrace new ideas and get off the fence to actually show interest and buy, the initiator needs strong business advice and informaiton – helpful pointers to cut waste of time and effort.
